Meet the Directors!

Senior Camp-Lance and KatE Dilks-Bird

Lance and Kate have been involved with Malaga Youth Camps since 2010 and 2014 respectively, serving in different capacities including the roles of counselor, worship leader, directors, Bible verse games teacher, and Bible study teachers.

We both love serving in camp ministry because we look forward to witnessing the fruit of how God uses these weeks to plant seeds in the lives of the next generation. Our favorite camp memory is meeting each other at camp! This is where we met and grew deeper in faith together. We have been married for 8 years and currently reside in Woodstown, NJ. Our favorite Bible verse is 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.” We're most looking forward to the unique and marvelous ways God will move in the hearts of the next generation this summer! Every year is an awesome journey and something always surprises us. It's incredible to witness His Holy Spirit doing a new thing and to see how everything comes together to point campers back to Christ!

Middler Camp-Jack and Daisy McMullen

Jack and Daisy are from Franklinville, New Jersey and have been involved in Malaga Camp Youth Ministries since 2017. They have served as counselors in Junior Camp and Middler/Senior Camp. In 2024, Jack and Daisy took on the role of Directors for Middler Camp to allow Middler Camp and Senior Camp to split to account for the growing number of campers. They attend First Baptist Church of Clayton, where they serve as leaders in the Youth Group.

Junior Camp-Timothy and Kyra Hartman

Timothy and Kyra Hartman have been directing Junior Camp since 2020. While growing up on Malaga Camp, Timothy had the privilege of attending Junior Camp while his father, Greg Hartman, was co-directing with Debbie Witte. In his teen years, he started counseling Junior Camp and now co-directs with his wife, Kyra. She began her involvement with Malaga Camp as a teenager, volunteering as a counselor for Junior Camp. The Hartmans now reside in Malaga Camp with their son, Timothy Jr, and beagle, Esther. They thank God for the incredible opportunity to serve Him by carrying the torch of directing Junior Camp, creating an environment that encourages spiritual growth, friendship, and enjoyment of the outdoors. Their goal is for campers to learn about God, make new friends, and make memories that last a lifetime!

Day Camp- Kim Wecht

Kim has a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Divinity. She serves as a Chaplain at Pitman Manor Retirement Community. Kim grew up attending, counseling and directing at a Christian camp in the Pinelands and has always experienced God in beautiful ways while being a part of camp ministry. Kim has owned a cottage at Malaga Camp with her husband Robert and children since 2002. This is Kim’s third year directing Day Camp and she enjoys sharing the love of Jesus with the young kids and watching their excitement as they discover new truths about God, His Word and His creation.
